Founded in 2003 and located in Hanover, Maryland, Pharad is a customer focused company carrying out innovative research, development, and manufacturing in the areas of highly efficient, electrically small antenna technologies and microwave photonic technologies for primarily government and commercial customers. Pharad's antenna development efforts have been focused on difficult to engineer antennas for confined operational environments and very broadband applications. Another division of Pharad develops and manufactures products for RF over Fiber systems that support the high performance fiber optic transport of RF signals from 3 MHz to 40 GHz.
Pharad has developed and delivered technology solutions for hundreds of customers globally. In order to meet customer needs, Pharad draws on the extensive and diverse experience of its renowned engineering team, including: Electromagnetics, Photonics, Microwave and Millimeter-wave circuits, Software, Electronics, Mechanical and Packaging, and Test and Measurement. The concepts, technologies and products developed by Pharad can be found in many present day wireless and communications systems, from cellular phone systems, satellite communications links, to military defense systems.
In 2007, Pharad formed the Octane brand as the commercial offering of Pharad developed commercial-off-the-shelf products. Pharad's factory operations were subsequently expanded and in 2010 Pharad achieved ISO9001:2008 certification, ensuring that only high quality products and services are delivered to customers. Pharad's unique products are designed for manufacturing, and the performance and environmental characteristics validated in state-of-the-art on-site engineering laboratories. Pharad's goal is to ensure customer satisfaction through the development, manufacture, and delivery of cost effective products, services, and solutions.
